STUART — More than 190 exhibitors are busily engaged in set-up mode for this weekend’s 42nd annual Stuart Boat Show on the northwest end of the old Roosevelt Bridge across the river from downtown Stuart. But one local marine business is preparing to spend a little time in 2016 in the auto racing arena, too.

Hi-Tide Boat Lifts in Fort Pierce has been a family-owned business on the Treasure Coast and a frequent participant in the Stuart Boat Show since the company began in 1979. Now, with over 35 years in business and products serving boaters across the United States, Craig Wood, president of Hi-Tide, has developed a way to help kids with an innovative interactive experience in motor sports.

Kids on Track will work with local charities in 10 cities to grant children and their guardians or sponsors free access to Mazda Road to Indy racing events throughout the Indy Car racing series. Kids will get a behind the scenes tour of the race tracks, meet Mazda Road to Indy drivers and see the race cars up close.

“Giving back to the community has always been an important part of our business model at Hi-Tide,” Wood said. “Kids on Track not only allows us to give back, it also presents us with the unique opportunity to influence and encourage the youth by exposing them to a new life experience.”
